Certified teacher with Masters in Global Affairs, BA in Piano. I teach at Sylvan and Kaplan. I teach piano, reading, writing, academic skill-building for good grades now and the success in college. I teach grades 3-12 reading/writing, math, science, SAT, NJASK, piano, but I focus on teaching academic skills needed like reading for comprehension, critical thinking, persuasive writing, advanced problem solving.
I've studied graduate history, economics, psychology, political science, international affairs, social studies, public policy, and more. I do the Math, Reading, and Writing sections of the SAT. I taught English and ESL in the classroom for two years in Europe. My used to read a book and write a paper each week for my classes and I can teach your child how to read, take notes, and organize essays, and papers quickly and efficiently in the way that their teachers want.
I teach weekly lessons in your home and offer discount for people who take a 2 or 1 1/2 hour weekly lesson. Normally $30 for the first hour and $20/hr for time after that. I give the same one-on-one service I do when I work for Sylvan and Kaplan Learning Centers but at a cheaper price because you are not paying the agencies for a classroom, managers, and their shareholders.
Thank you, Alex
"Alex taught all four of my children in their progression through high school. As busy working parents it was really nice to have Alex to teach our kids. He handled all their subjects; moreover he taught them how to teach themselves by examining information themselves, doing research, separating the important form the superfluous, and writing it all down in flowing MLA format. Alex gave my kids the confidence the needed. if they struggled with a subject he was there to do extra research if necessary so as to catch them up and keep them on top. He also helped teach their SATs when it was time and he was there to help with their college essays.
Alex believes that education is to make us better people and as for my children it definitely inspired them to make the most of their academic lives. One is now pre-med, another political science, and Andrew and Emily were accepted into NYU.
Alex is a college prep teacher, he build skills needed, and we could not have done it without him. "
