I am an experienced tutor and teacher with a Bachelors degree in Physics and a Masters Degree in Geoscience. Within my field, I have experience tutoring and teaching Math (from basic math up through college calculus), Science, and Computers at various levels up through professional. In particular, as a science educator, I have taught Physics, Chemistry, Earth Science, Astronomy, Physical Science, Electronics, and Sports Science. In addition, I have taught Hebrew Reading and done Bar & Bat Mitzvah Preperation tutoring. I've also done test-preparation tutoring for the GMAT, GRE, GED, ASVAB, SAT, FE, AP, and NYS Regents Exams. I am fluent in English and can communicate to various degrees of fluency in Japanese, Hebrew, and American Sign Language. I have taught and tutored academic subjects in each of these languages as well. I also have experience working with Deaf and hard-of-hearing students in ASL, Signed English, and SimCom environments. Additionally, I have worked with adult learners, returning students, English language learners, and students with special needs. I have taken formal coursework in education and understand that we all have different learning styles and that there is no one single approach that will work for everyone. As such, I am flexible and adaptable as a tutor. I look forward to working with you and your individual educational needs! I am also available for night-time hours after 9 pm.

What is a trial class?

Finding the right tutor takes more than a teaching profile page – it requires the right chemistry… Therefore, all our tutor members have agreed to offer new students a trial class to help determine if there’s a great fit. This means no semester-long contracts… just find a tutor, pay the flat NextGuru trial class fee and have a test run!

What happens after the trial?

That’s completely up to you! You have no obligation to continue classes. If you decide to continue, you work out the details (including schedule and payment method) directly with your instructor. If the chemistry wasn’t right, just come back to NextGuru and you can try another instructor…

How does NextGuru get paid?

All instructors are eligible for free membership – this is critical so that you can have the broadest, most diverse selection of teachers possible. Therefore, instead of paying a mandatory membership fee or a commission on lessons, our tutor members have given up their one-time trial class fee to help pay for technology and marketing costs.
