I have been a substitute teacher for 12 years. I have a bachelor degree in elementary education. I substituted for every subject, including the specialty classes, regular education, special education, etc. I taught in elementary classes up through high school. I enjoy working with children and helping them learn. I have music abilities, but not a formal education in college with my music. I have taught piano lessons. I play piano at church for the choir and sometimes for meetings. I also sing in the choir at church. Growing up, I took 9 years of piano lessons and played flute in the band as well. I am a very positive attitude type of teacher. I like to encourage students to do their best. I help them see the "big picture" as to why they should always do their best. This helps them see the importance of listening to instructions, doing their homework, and try really hard to learn all they can. I also try to make learning fun. Children learn best when they enjoy what they are doing. When I was a substitute teacher, students often loved to see me in their classroom. They would tell me they love having me because I am a "normal" teacher. I interpret that as meaning I am fair with students and care about them. I look forward to working with students once again.
